Second Sunday after Trinity

SECOND SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY Sunday, June 30, 2019 Readings: Lesson: Judges 13:8-25 Psalm: 18:1-20 Epistle: 1 John 3:13-24 Gospel: Luke 14:16-24 ADORATION I love You, O Lord, for You are my Strength, my Savior, and my God. When I call upon You, You save me from the sorrow of my soul, the hell of my heart, and the trouble of my mind. You remind me that You are present as much on fiery cherubim and bright heavens as in darkness and thick clouds. You stop at nothing to reach through, come down, grasp and deliver me from my strongest enemies—the thoughts, feelings, and voices within that hate me, that tell me I’m not good enough, that I don’t deserve You, that feel too mighty for me. You deliver me to freedom, not because of my righteous dealing but because of Your loving heart. CONFESSION Lord, You appeared to Manoah and his barren wife to tell them that she would now conceive a son, Samson, dedicated to Your purposes. I acknowledge that You have a plan for all ...

First Sunday after Trinity

FIRST SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY Sunday, June 23, 2019 Readings: Lesson: Joshua 24:1-15 Psalm: 5 Epistle: 1 John 4:7-21 Gospel: Luke 16:19-31 ADORATION Almighty God, I look up and direct my prayer and praise to You. You are ever-living and ever-loving, and so wickedness and evil cannot dwell with You, lies and deceit cannot stand in Your sight. From this I learn that all malice and ignorance have an end. Only Your righteousness, faithfulness, and selfless Love are true, real and permanent. I praise and rejoice in You because You choose the side of all who trust in You, do good, and love Your Name. You defend and bless them with Your kindness. You listen to their prayers. You lead them through their lives, making Your ways plain and simple before them. And You bring them home into Your Presence. CONFESSION Holy Father, Your servant Joshua renewed Israel’s covenant by rehearsing their history. I confess that I forget and ignore my own history. I refuse to he...

You have ascended into Heaven in great triumph and glory with the sound of the ram’s horn. I clap my hands, and I shout to You with a cry of joy, for You have gone up on high, taking captivity captive. I sing praises to You, my Lord and my God, for You are the King of all the earth.
