ADORATION
Lord Almighty, how dear to me is Your dwelling place. My soul desires to visit Your house of worship, and my heart and my flesh rejoice everywhere that Your Presence is felt. I love to go to the place where Your glory dwells, where I can praise You, where I can find my strength in You. There, You cause my mind to climb from height to height towards You, so that You may reveal Yourself in my heart. One day in Your sanctuary is better than a thousand in my own room. You are the sun that illumines my path with Your glory, and the shield which defends me with Your grace. You do not withhold any good thing from those who walk in Your ways. Happy are all who put their trust in You!
CONFESSION
Father, You sent the prophet Elijah to feed a poor widow and to raise her only son from the dead. I confess that I do not do my part to relieve the physical hunger and thirst of this world. I know that there are more than enough resources on this earth for everyone, and that our jars of flour need never go empty nor our jugs of oil run dry. And, as human beings do not live by bread alone but from Your Word, I acknowledge my need to fill the spiritual void and drought of modern society. You have given me new life in Your Spirit, and yet I fall short of imparting this life breath onto the next generation, which lies motionless in love and compassion, unable to breathe in their true essence.
THANKSGIVING
Holy Spirit, I thank You for being present with me to direct me, so that I may walk in Your ways. I thank You for making Your ways are easy to recognize, for You are present wherever there is love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, humility and temperance. I thank You for the struggle between spirit and ego within me, because through it You show me my powerlessness to do the things I really want to do, and the freedom that You have planned for me. It is Your will that I inherit the Kingdom of God, that is, the knowledge of God insofar as I can understand it. I thank You that, to that end, You have already crucified within me anything contrary to Your fruits.
SUPPLICATION
Lord Jesus Christ, You cleansed the ten lepers and made whole the one who returned to give You thanks. I ask You to enter into the village of my heart, so that You may cleanse it of any impurity or illness within. I pray that I may always acknowledge Your healing hand in my life, and turn back to You again and again in repentance. May I return, not as a stranger, but as a grateful servant who falls down at Your feet, and as a faithful follower who gives You thanks and glory for the countless blessings You bestow upon me daily in Your mercy. And I pray that when You ask where are the nine, I may show You the nine fruits of Your Spirit at work within me, so that my faith in You can make me whole.
